After dominating his elders in the Coral-Eclipse Stakes (G1)GOLDEN HORN (GB) [130] now tops the fifth edition of the LONGINES World’s Best Racehorse Rankings for 2015.

Golden Horn pulled away in the stretch to defeat THE GREY GATSBY (IRE) [123] by 3 ½ lengths at Sandown. The 3-year-old colt, who won the Investec Epsom Derby (G1) and Betfred Dante Stakes (G2) in his prior two outings, is now undefeated in five career starts. In the last 20 years, only one other horse has completed the Derby-Eclipse double, and that was champion Sea The Stars in 2009.

One start before running second to Golden Horn, The Grey Gatsby lost a photo finish to FREE EAGLE (IRE) [123] in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes (G1) at Royal Ascot.

American Triple Crown winner AMERICAN PHAROAH (USA) [128] is now the second-highest rated horse in the world, while SHARED BELIEF (USA) [125] and ABLE FRIEND (AUS) [125] are tied for third.

New to the rankings this month is SNOW SKY (GB) [124], who put on a show in the Hardwicke Stakes (G2) on the last day of Royal Ascot, winning by 3 ¾ lengths. As a result, he is tied for the co-fifth spot with TREVE (FR) [124] and SOLOW (GB) [124], who both added to their list of accomplishments in the last month.

Solow defeated Able Friend in the Queen Anne Stakes (G1) at Royal Ascot, whilst Treve won the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud (G1) at the end of June over FLINTSHIRE (GB) [123].

JACK HOBBS (GB) [123] has also been rated highly following his victory in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby (G1) after finishing second behind Golden Horn in the Epsom Derby and Dante.
