Godolphin is honored by peers as top owner and breeder

Godolphin was the winner of the 2024 owner and breeder of the year honors at the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association’s 40th annual national awards Friday and Saturday in Lexington, Ky.

The national awards luncheon was held Friday at Godolphin honoring state and Canada breeders of 2024. The national awards dinner was held Saturday at Fasig-Tipton honoring all award winners and emceed by FanDuel TV’s Scott Hazelton.

Godolphin won its awards over owner finalists Juddmonte and Klaravich Stables and breeder finalists Judy Hicks and Town & Country Horse Farms.

The partnership of Lance Gasaway, Daniel Hamby and 4G Racing was announced as the winner of the 2024 national small breeder of the year. William Butler and CUYATHY were the other finalists.

SF Racing, Starlight Racing, Madaket Stables, Bat Masterson, Stonestreet Stables, Waves Edge Capital and Catherine Donovan won the Cot Campbell partnership of the year award. Lance Gasaway, Daniel Hamby, 4G Racing and Valley View Farm as well as MyRacehorse also were finalists.

Alan Foreman was honored with the Dr. J. David Richardson TOBA industry-service award. Sataves was named national broodmare of the year.

Like a Saltshaker was honored as Claiming Crown horse of the year. Zeland was named the sport horse of the year.

There were 21 state and Canada breeders of the year.

Arizona: Fleming Thoroughbred Farm owned by Marvin Fleming and Gerald Fleming.

Arkansas: McDowell Farms owned by Bill and Mary McDowell.

California: Richard Barton Enterprises owned by Richard Barton.

Canada: Adena Springs.

Canada small breeder: Jesse Korona.

Florida: Stonehedge owned by Marilyn Campbell.

Indiana: Justice Farms owned by Greg Justice.

Iowa: Poindexter Thoroughbreds owned by Allen Poindexter.

Kentucky: Godolphin.

Louisiana: Tony Doughtie.

Maryland: Larry Johnson.

New Jersey: Vincent Annarella.

New Mexico: Kirk and Judy Robison.

New York: William Butler.

North Carolina: Nancy Shuford.

Oregon: Connie and Lee Erickson.

Pennsylvania: Warriors Reward owned by Donnie Brown and Tom McClay.

South Carolina: Franklin Smith Sr.

Texas: Danele Durham.

Virginia: Audley Farm Equine.

Washington: Nina and Ron Hagen.
