Garden City Pick 4

Rise and shine folks, rise and shine. It's looking like a wonderful day to wager at the Big Sandy. Our undivided attention will be on the late Pick 4 which is highlighted by the Grade 1 Garden City. Lets dig in....

Race 7 kicks things off with a terrific maiden special weight contested on the inner turf going 1 1/16th miles for fillies and mares, 3 and up. I went 2-4-5 in here but could go deeper. I will keep my eyes on the tote and post parade to possibly add more but as of now those are my 3. The number 2 Weave is a 2nd time starter for Graham Motion who entices the services of Johnny V. Im intrigued. She caught a good turf course first out and has every right to improve. That's good enough for me and if she's anywhere near that 10-1 morning line I'm all in. The number 4 Toy Land for Bill Mott, and 5 Jewel Kat for Shug, are both coming in off layoffs and both are 2nd time starters with a right to improve.

Race 8 is the Grade 3 Noble Dancer. And to me this is a classic pace vs. class battle. Crucial leg of this sequence for me because I'm going out on a limb with the pace and singling the 2 Assateague. I believe Luis Saez has found the keys to this one so to speak. I don't trust the supposed class of Better Lucky and Hungry Island. Better Lucky may have been helped by the boggy going last out and her win in the Matriarch she got a nice pace to rally into. Hungry Island does scare me a bit but he has been a money incinerator as of late, albeit against better, but he does settle for minor awards quite a bit.

Now for the main event, the Grade 1 Garden City. This race came up pretty awesome and I'm not fulling around here. I'm using the 4 obvious ones. Emoillent, Discreet Marq, and Summer of Fun are all cool horses. But the one I'm interested in though is Alterite for Chad Brown. First time in the US, this is Chad's bread and butter. JV on board only sweetens the deal. Now's the time to have this one I believe. I'm using this foursome in the pick 4. I'd love to leave out Emoillent but I just don't have the guts. She's a finicky filly who I just don't trust really. If I get by the Noble Dancer with my single though, I refuse to get knocked out of this pick 4 by Emoillent.

As for the night cap, if we were smart enough and lucky enough to get here, we will be live to the 4-6-12. Smoke Town, 2nd off the claim for Linda Rice should sit a nice trip in a speed filled race. Why Not Whiskey will be coming late. And my top pick Southern Tier, for Lisa Lewis with Alex Solis up, had some trouble last out and I'm banking on them to make right this time and get the cash.

The play: 2-4-5 with 2 with 1-2-4-6 with 4-6-12. We are looking at an 18 dollar play for 50 cents.

Best of luck everyone wherever you will be wagering. We will be back to recap this sequence later. Hopefully gloating how smart we were on this glorious afternoon as we count our cash.
