Frosty Margarita Faces Nine Foes in Maddie May

Entering off a pair of back-to-back stakes victories, Gabrielle Farm's Frosty Margarita will look to establish herself as the top New York-bred 3-year-old filly when she faces nine competitors on Sunday at Aqueduct Racetrack in the inaugural running of the Maddie May at one mile and 70 yards.
A daughter of Frost Giant, Frosty Margarita has finished no worse than second from six starts with three wins. Trained by Rudy Rodriguez, she will be making her first start around two turns following a second-place finish at one mile in the Maid of the Mist Stakes on October 24 at Belmont Park when she was caught late at the wire.
The 7-5 morning-line favorite, Frosty Margarita will depart from post position 6 with regular rider Irad Ortiz, Jr. aboard.
Rodriguez will also saddle recent debut winner Katniss the Victor for owners Michael Dubb and Bethlehem Stables. The progeny of Midnight Lute, she was impressive her first time out while traveling three-wide to earn a 2 ¼ length victory at 1 1/16 miles onDecember 16 at Aqueduct.
Drawing post 9 at 6-1 on the morning line, Katniss the Victor will be ridden by Jose Ortiz.
Entering for owners Newman Racing and trainer Charlton Baker is Absatootly. A daughter of Mineshaft, Absatoothly has won her last two starts following her debut last November. Most recently, she won the East View on December 27 at Aqueduct.
The 4-1 morning-line second-choice, Absatootly will leave from post 5 with Kendrick Carmouche aboard.
Rounding out the field are Here Comes Rosie for trainer Jeremiah Englehart and Southfield Farm; I Hope You Dance, most recently coming off a 7 ¼ length victory at Finger Lakes for new trainer Danny Gargan; Miss Key for trainer Michael Maker; Backwood Bay for trainer Linda Rice and owner Chester and Mary Broman; Flatware for trainer Mark Hennig and DATT Stable; Mecke's Madalyn; and Crazy Love.
