Friday works: Point Me By, Kathleen O. are among 11 on tab

Point Me By and Kathleen O. were among 11 graded stakes winners recording timed workouts on Friday at U.S. racetracks.

Point Me By, who captured the 2021 Bruce D. (G1) at defunct Arlington Park was among the works, traveling four furlongs  in 50.0 seconds at Keeneland, the 10th fastest of 25 works at the distance.

The 5-year-old son of Point of Entry has not been seen since finishing fifth in an optional claiming race on Sept. 3 at Keeneland. Trainer Eddie Kenneally has not publicly identified a target for the son of Point of Entry's return to the races.

Kathleen O., winner of the 2022 Gulfstream Park Oaks and the Davona Dale, both Grade 2s run at Gulfstream, also breezed at Keeneland, covering three furlongs in 38.5 seconds, the fifth-fastest of 10 works at the distance.  

Trainer Shug McGaughey has not publicly identified a target for the 4-year-old daughter of Upstart's return to the races. She was last seen in the afternoon finishing fifth in the Ruffian (G2) on May 6 at Belmont Park. 

Point Me By (Point of Entry), a Grade 1 winner (2021 Bruce D.), worked four furlongs in 50.0 seconds at Keeneland on Friday morning. It was the 10th fastest of 25 works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at Churchill Downs. In his last start he placed fifth in an allowance race going one mile on the turf at Kentucky Downs on Sept. 3 for trainer Eddie Kenneally.

Kathleen O. (Upstart), a two-time Grade 2 winner (2022 Gulfstream Park Oaks, 2022 Davona Dale), worked three furlongs in 38.5 seconds at Niall Brennan Stables on Friday morning. It was the fifth fastest of 10 works at the distance. Her previous work was nine days ago going three furlongs at Niall Brennan Stables. In her last start she placed fifth in the Ruffian (G2) going one mile on the main track at Belmont Park on May 6 for trainer Shug McGaughey.

Master Piece (Mastercraftsman), a two-time Grade 2 winner (2023 Red Smith, 2022 Eddie Read), worked five furlongs in 1:02.5 at Belmont Park on Friday morning. It was the fastest of 20 works at the distance. His previous work was six days ago going four furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start he won the Red Smith (G2) going 1 3/8 miles on the turf at Aqueduct on Nov. 11 for trainer Rick Dutrow Jr.

Gear Jockey (Twirling Candy), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Turf Sprint), worked four furlongs in 52.8 seconds at Keeneland on Friday morning. It was the 24th fastest of 25 works at the distance. His previous work was six days ago going four furlongs at Keeneland. In his last start he placed 11th in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint going five furlongs on the turf at Santa Anita on Nov. 4 for trainer Rusty Arnold.

Private Creed (Jimmy Creed), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Franklin-Simpson), worked four furlongs in 52.0 seconds at Fair Grounds on Friday morning. It was the 32nd fastest of 34 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he won an allowance race going 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf at Churchill Downs on Nov. 9 for trainer Steve Asmussen.

Stolen Base (Bodemeister), a Grade 2 winner (2022 American Turf), worked four furlongs in 49.6 seconds at Belmont Park on Friday morning. It was the 17th fastest of 75 works at the distance. His previous work was five days ago going four furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start he placed ninth in an allowance race going 1 1/2 miles on the turf at Keeneland on Oct. 14 for trainer Mike Maker.

Wow Whata Summer (Summer Front), a Grade 2 winner (2022 Penn Mile), worked five furlongs in 1:01.4 at Fair Hill on Friday morning. It was the second fastest of four works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed fourth in an allowance race going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Aqueduct on Nov. 17 for trainer James Lawrence II.

Boppy O (Bolt d'Oro), a Grade 3 winner (2022 With Anticipation), worked five furlongs in 1:01.9 on turf at Palm Meadows on Friday morning. It was the fastest of seven works at the distance. His previous work was 11 days ago going five furlongs at Palm Meadows. In his last start he placed 11th in the Belmont Derby Invitational (G1) going 1 1/4 miles on the turf at Belmont Park on July 8 for trainer Mark Casse.
