Friday works: Mindframe continues training toward Stephen Foster
Mindframe, last-out winner of the Grade 1 Churchill Downs Stakes, worked four furlongs in 50.6 seconds at Saratoga on Friday morning. It was the Todd Pletcher trainee's third drill since his top-level breakthrough on Kentucky Derby day. He is training toward a possible return in the Grade 1 Stephen Foster, also at Churchill Downs, on June 28.
Trikari, who finished a flat ninth in the Dinner Party (G3) in his last start on the Preakness undercard, returned to the work tab with a Friday-morning bullet. The Graham Motion trainee worked four furlongs in 49.6 seconds, fastest of eight to go that distance on the Fair Hill turf. He won the 2024 Belmont Derby (G1) as a 3-year-old and finished third behind Carl Spackler in the Maker's Mark Mile (G1) in April at Keeneland.
