Friday works: Crupi leads 26 graded-stakes winners on tab

Crupi, second in the Grade 1 Whitney in his latest start, returned to the work tab Friday.

The 4-year-old Curlin colt breezed four furlongs in 48.66 seconds at Saratoga for trainer Todd Pletcher, 13th fastest of 47 at the distance.

Crupi has finished out of the money only once in his last seven starts, and that was a 10th-place finish in the Dubai World Cup. In three starts since, he won the Suburban (G2) and was second in the Brooklyn (G2) ahead of the Whitney.

Crupi was one of 26 graded-stakes winners with published works Friday.

Chili Flag (Cityscape), a Grade 1 winner (2024 Just a Game), worked four furlongs in 50.0 seconds at Saratoga on Friday morning. It was the ninth fastest of 25 works at the distance. Her previous work was 28 days ago going four furlongs at Saratoga. In her last start she placed ninth in the Diana (G1) going 1 1/8 miles on the turf at Saratoga on July 13 for trainer Chad Brown.

Cinderella's Dream (Shamardal), a Grade 1 winner (2024 Belmont Oaks Invitational), worked four furlongs in 53.8 seconds on turf at Saratoga on Friday morning. It was the 58th fastest of 59 works at the distance. Her previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Saratoga.
