Friday works: La Cara drills for Cotillion, leads 26 on tab

La Cara worked at Belmont Park on Friday ahead of a start in next weekend's Grade 1 Cotillion at Parx.

The 3-year-old Street Sense filly breezed four furlongs in 48.0 seconds on the dirt training track at Belmont Park for trainer Mark Casse, ninth fastest of 119 at the track and distance.

La Cara has won three of six starts this year, including the Ashland (G1) and the Acorn (G1). In her most recent start, she was fourth in the Alabama (G1), which was won by stablemate Nitrogen. Casse confirmed Friday that she is pointed to the Cotillion, going 1 1/16 miles on dirt.
