Thursday Golden Gate Fields Recap: April 14 (Winning Early Pick 4 Ticket)

Fast Tapeta surface and off the turf. Four wire-to-wire winners on the all-weather main track (8f, 5.5f, 8f, 5.5f).

Hat trick for Russell Baze. Trainer John Martin saddled three winners and Baze rode two.

Thursday’s suggested Pick 5, Early Pick 4, Pick 6, and Late Pick 4 tickets produced four Primary winners (Rainbow North, Annisquam, Aventador, Kronwell) and three Secondary winners (You Sleep On That, George’s Main Man, Wahine Warrior). I tabbed the Early Pick 4 (Races 2-5) and it paid $14.30. I needed True Character in the fifth race to hit the Pick 5 but he dueled and ended up 2nd. In the Golden 6, I had five winners (missed the sixth race) and Friday’s carryover stands at $249,234.
