Freshman Sire Watch: Leinster filly performs on a world stage

The 2025 freshman sire crop continues to build momentum with Leinster maintaining his commanding lead in the standings. The son of Majestic Warrior has posted four winners from 11 starters for an impressive 36.4% strike rate, establishing himself as the clear early leader among first-year stallions. But that record only includes North American runners.

This week, his daughter Lennilu finished third in the Group 3 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot, where she finished behind Aiden O'Brien's True Love and ahead of 20 other fillies.

Not bad for a $2,500 stud fee.

While Leinster leads in total victories, several other stallions are posting exceptional winning percentages with limited opportunities. Charlatan and Yaupon both maintain 50% strike rates with two wins from four starts each. No Parole sits atop the win percentage leaderboard since his only start is a winner, while Raging Tiger, Galawi, Modernist and Listing each boast 50% win rates with one victory from two starts.

Recent winners

Three different freshman sires registered winners over the past week. Most recently, Known Agenda scored with Pure Eloquence at Gulfstream Park on June 19, marking the stallion's first winner. Modernist also broke through with his first winner as Stretch captured a maiden race at Lone Star Park on Sunday. Rock Your World added to his tally when Khon Han scored at Gulfstream Park last Friday, giving the stallion his second winner of the year.
