French-based sire Marchand de Sable died at Haras de Bernesq at age 19, according to a Racingpost.com report.

Marchand de Sable’s best offspring is European champion Machand d’Or, a five-time group I winner who captured last year’s Darley July Cup (Eng-I) at Newmarket, Prix Maurice de Gheest (Fr-I) at Deauville, and Qatar Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp (Fr-I) at Longchamp. Marchand de Sable is also the sire of grade I winner Commercante, and successful jumpers Andreas and Deflation.
