French Sire Green Tune Dies at 20

Green Tune, a French champion and sire, was euthanized in early January after fracturing his right hind leg, according to the Racing Post. The 20-year-old son of Green Dancer stood at Haras d’Etreham in Normandy.
According to the Post, Green Tune’s European progeny earnings in 2010 were the second-highest among France’s active stallions. His runners, led by French group I winner Fuisse, earned more than $1.4 million pounds.
Another of his 2010 runners, French group winner Zagora, was sent to the United States, where she ran second in the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes (gr. IT) at Keeneland.
