Free picks, PPs: Randwick's Epsom Handicap day races

One of the Everest Carnival’s biggest days includes three Group 1 events and races pushing past $3.8 million in purses, with the headliner the TAB Epsom Handicap (G1), which goes as Race 7 at Randwick Racecourse.

* VRC Oaks runner-up last year is a seriously talented filly 

* Looked back to near her best last start when held for 2nd

* Fitness should be peaking 3rd run of prep 

* Well-graded here in a race of moderate opposition 

4 - 2/1/4/3 PROBABEEL 

* Progressive filly competitive in top 2-year-old company last prep

* Latest a fast finishing 3rd in Tea Rose Stakes 

* Has always looked a like a miler; this distance is perfect

* Should stalk the speed and be able to run down Funstar

5 - 2/6/1/5 CLASSIQUE LEGEND 

* Extremely impressive 1st up run in the Shorts behind Pierata

* Will have taken plenty of improvement fitness-wise 

* Everest-bound after this

* Very adaptable horse with this small field no problem 

6 - 1/6/3/9 SAMADOUBT 

* Underrated horse who has surprised many

* Group 1 and Group 2 winner already

* Has won over mile and quarter before

* Keen to lay the favorite, Very Elleegant, here 

7 - 15/10/9/5 CASCADIAN

* Nicely bred import ready to produce best after two encouraging runs here in Australia 

* Finished off strongly last start behind Kolding after finding traffic in the straight 

* Is Group 1-placed over a mile in France; the extra furlong here is perfect 

* Gets in with very light weight and nice draw 

8 - 14/13/15/8 ATTENTION RUN

* Imported stayer in top stable and improving steadily each run

* Had to cart the field up to leader in Newcastle Cup last start and stuck on bravely 

* Out and out stayer; fit, consistent and set for this race 

* Gets in with a very light weight; poses good value in an open race 

9 - 1/2/3/12 MISS FABULASS

* Very smart filly; at her best is classes above rivals here

* Group 2 Tea Rose winner last year didn’t fire in Autumn prep

* Strong through the line in recent trial, she looks like she could be back to near her best

* Look for her to be ridden quietly and swoop late with superior turn of foot
