Aqueduct’s Withers Stakes (G3) and the Sam F. Davis (G3) at Tampa Bay on Saturday are both 10-4-2-1 Kentucky Derby preps races on Saturday. Both races feature top trainers looking to advance young stable stars.

The $250,000 Sam F. Davis, run at 1 1/16 miles, will go to post at 5:02 p.m. ET. The overflow field features Smiley Sobotka, running for trainer Dale Romans, who finished second in the Kentucky Jockey Club (G2).

The Brody’s Cause colt will go up against entries from Bill Mott, who will be running Candy Man Rocket and Nova Rags, winner of the Pasco in his most recent trip.

Todd Pletcher also has two entries in Known Agenda, who finished second in the 2020 Remsen (G2) and Millean, making his stakes debut.

The Prime Power rankings for the Sam F. Davis are topped by Known Agenda and Nova Rags, followed by Boca Boy.

Free past performances are now available for the race from our friends at Brisnet.

In New York, the 1 1/8-mile $250,000 Withers is set to go off at Aqueduct on Saturday. That race features a rematch of the Jan. 21 Jerome, also at Aqueduct, between Capo Kane, who won the race, and Eagle Orb, who finished second.

Trained by Rudy Rodriguez, Eagle Orb sits at the top of the race’s Prime Power rankings, followed by Shackqueenking for Gary Capuano, making his stakes debut and Capo Kane, trained by Harold Wyner.

Donegal Bay breaks from post position No. 7 in a nine-horse field. The Todd Pletcher-trained gelding son of Uncle Mo broke his maiden on second asking at Gulfstream Park on Dec. 20.

PPs for the Withers are also available from our friends at Brisnet. More PPs can be found on our past performances page.
