Saturday’s Risen Star (G2) at Fair Grounds is set to be the deepest field of any 2021 Kentucky Derby points race. The race will pay out 50-20-10-5 points allocated to the top four finishers, the most of any race so far.

The field is headlined by Keepmeinmind, winner of the 2020 Kentucky Jockey Club (G2) in his most recent race on Nov. 28 at Keeneland, as well as Midnight Bourbon, who won the Lecomte (G3) at Fair Grounds on Jan. 16.

Other intriguing options for the race include Springboard Mile winner Senor Buscador and Mandaloun, who finished third in the Lecomte as the favorite for trainer Brad Cox.

Local prospect Rightandjust will run for trainer Shane Wilson after winning an allowance race over a strong field that included several horses that scratched from the Lecomte.

The Prime Power rankings for the race are topped by Mandaloun, followed by Keepmeinmind and Midnight Bourbon.

Free Risen Star PPs from our friends at Brisnet can be found here.

The Kentucky Derby Future Wager Pool 3 will also be running this weekend. The pool is set to include 24 options.

As usual, the expected favorite in the pool is the all other 3-year-olds option, which oddsmaker Mike Battaglia set at 7-2.

Pool 3 of the KDFW includes nine horses that have not previously appeared in the first two pools, including Candy Man Rocket, who won the Sam F. Davis on Saturday and Dream Shake, who beat heavily touted Bezos in a maiden race.

Top individual betting choices in the pool include Greatest Honour, who twice passed his two-turn tests at Gulfstream Park, most recently coming from outside in the Holy Bull (G3) on Jan. 30. The colt was put at 15-1 on the morning line after closing at 40-1 in Pool 2.

Five of the KDFW horses are entered in the Risen Star, which includes Keepmeinmind, Mandaloun, Midnight Bourbon, Senor Buscador, plus Proxy.

Free PPs for the entire pool are now available from our friends at Brisnet. Visit our past performances page now for even more content.
