Report: Frank's Rockette is retired after 2nd-place finish Sunday
Frank's Rockette, a 6-year-old mare who has been racing in graded stakes company since age 2, has been retired.
Stallion plans are pending for the Frank Fletcher homebred according to a report posted Monday on X by Mary Rampellini of Daily Racing Form.
Frank's Rockette finished her career with a second-place effort in Sunday's Pumpkin Pie Stakes at Aqueduct. Sent off the 1-2 favorite, she pressed the pace but could not match late-running Green Up in the late stages. She crossed the wire 4 1/4 lengths behind the winner.
A daughter of Into Mischief out of the Indian Charlie mare Rocket Twentyone, Frank's Rockette retires with a 30: 12-11-4 record. Her second-place finish in the Pumpkin Pie took her over $1.5 million in earnings. The Bill Mott trainee began her career with an 8 1/4-length maiden win on June 21, 2019 at Churchill Downs, stepping straight into graded company from there. Although was second in all three stakes starts at age 2, she won her first stakes race at age 3 in the 2020 Any Limit Stakes at Gulfstream. She broke through at the graded level later that year in the Victory Ride (G3).
Frank's Rockette's 12 wins included five at the graded level, most recently the Hurricane Bertie (G3) at Gulfstream in March. She also placed in eight more graded races including a pair at the top level, the Spinaway (G1) and Frizette (G1) in 2019.
