Frankel Toys With Overmatched Sussex Rivals

FRANKEL again showed just why he is the best racehorse in the world with another dominating, dismissive, destructive performance to make it 12 wins from 12 in the Sussex Stakes.
Trained by Sir Henry Cecil for Khalid Abdullah, victory had been thoroughly expected as the wonderhorse was sent off 1-20 favourite and he delivered with contemptuous ease finishing well clear of Farhh in second and Gabrial third.
Frankel's big brother Bullet Train jumped into the lead from the stalls with his younger sibling tucked in behind and Frankie Dettori tracking the red-hot favourite in third on Farhh - it would be the closest the Godolphin runner got to the superstar.
Running around the turn Bullet Train continued in his role at the head of the pack and approaching the three-furlong marker Tom Queally, riding Frankel, went to the front and turned to give a long, lazy look behind him to check on the opposition.
Content that he was going as well as he thought, Queally turned back to focus on the winning post, letting Frankel rip and he produced his instant turn of speed to shoot clear.
