Three Chimneys on Friday announced its 2019 stallion roster and fees led by 2017 Horse of the Year Gun Runner, who bred a full book of mares this year and whose fee remains unchanged at $70,000 LFS&N for his second season at stud.

“We are very pleased at the performance of our stallions this past year, in the breeding shed, on the racetrack, and in the auction ring,” said Three Chimneys chairman Goncalo Torrealba. “Gun Runner covered an exceptional book of quality mares which should lay the foundation for him as a successful sire.”

“Every stallion on our roster was represented by a high-dollar horse in the sales ring,” Torrealba added. “At Fasig-Tipton July, the top five-selling fillies were by three separate Three Chimneys stallions. Auction results were strong at Keeneland September as well, and both of our freshman sires are off to a great start with their progeny. We have set our fees to represent value to our customers in the marketplace.”

Gun Runner, a six-time Grade 1 winner, who closed his career with victories in the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) and Pegasus World Cup (G1), earned $15,988,500 in a stellar racing career. He is Candy Ride’s leading earner and is out of Quiet Giant, a Grade 2-winning half-sister to Horse of the Year Saint Liam.

Champion Will Take Charge, winner of the Travers Stakes (G1) and Clark Handicap (G1), is a Top 5 first crop sire in 2018. He is represented by such first-crop runners as Kim K, winner of the $100,000 Barretts Debutante Stakes; graded stakes-placed Lightscameraaction, third in the $200,000 Pocahontas Stakes (G3) and second in the $400,000 Juvenile Fillies Stakes at Kentucky Downs; as well as stakes-placed Manny Wah and Red Zinger.

Will Take Charge is also a leading second-crop sire of 2018 yearlings by average price ($144,084). His fee remains unchanged at $30,000 LFS&N.
