Fort Loudon, Burning Time Meet at Calder

Jockey Luis Jurado retains the mount on Fort Loudon as they break from the outside post seven in the In Reality after they teamed up for scores in the $75,000 Dr. Fager and $125,000 Affirmed divisions of the FSS after breaking his maiden by 10 lengths in his fourth start of the meet. The son of Awesome of Course will be trying two turns for the first time.

Leading jockey Luis Saez will get aboard Jacks or Better’s Argentine Tango for the first time after the son of Black Mambo finished second in three straight stakes tries, beginning with the $100,000 Frank Gomez Memorial in early July and runner-up to stablemate Fort Loudon in both the Dr. Fager and Affirmed. He, too, will be racing a distance for the first time Saturday.

Trainer David Fawkes fashioned a Florida Stallion Stakes sweep of his own in 2008 with Harold Queen’s emerging star Big Drama and will send out Queen’s homebred Burning Time in the In Reality with Daniel Centeno aboard. The son of Burning Roma is already proven around two turns, finishing second in the Seacliff Stakes in August and winning the $100,000 Foolish Pleasure Stakes last out going one mile and 70 yards on Sept. 17.

Completing the field for the In Reality are Roger Urbina’s Soy Yo, Ameth Gonzalez; Gary Aiken’s King Over, Jose Alvarez; Guido Halayn DeLaTorre’s Twin, John Delgado; and New Phoenix Stable’s Sarava’s Dancer, Cornelio Velsquez.
