Trainer Mike Campbell has reported that multiple stakes winner Private Prospect is pointing toward the Grade I Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Santa Anita Park on Nov. 1.

Owned by Mellon Patch, Inc., the son of Discreet Cat won the Prairie Gold Juvenile at 5 1/2 furlongs on July 19 and the Prairie Juvenile Mile on Aug. 9 - both at Prairie Meadows - before finishing a bold second in last week’s Grade III Arlington-Washington Futurity by a head to Doubledown Stable’s Recount.
Private Prospect was claimed out of his first race by Mellon Patch for $50,000 - an Arlington International Racecourse event he won impressively by a half-length for previous trainer Keith Desormeaux, despite flipping in the paddock minutes prior. With a two-turn dirt stakes victory and four races in 10 weeks’ time, the Kentucky-bred will now train up to the Breeders’ Cup.
