Prime Equestrian’s Flash Mash, away alertly, settled just off the early pace, challenged for command when set down for the drive, drew off in upper stretch and then withstood a late challenge by Robert and Lawana Low’s Born Indy U S A to win Thursday’s $53,000 featured filly and mare allowance/optional $62,500 claiming grass dash by a length and a half.

Flash Mash, trained by Mike Stidham and ridden by Robby Albarado, toured the about 5 1/2-furlong distance over the Stall-Wilson turf course rated “good” in 1:04.67, returned mutuels of $3.40. $2.60 and $2.40 and increased her career earnings to $133,808 with her fourth win in seven lifetime starts.

Born Indy U S A, unhurried early, rallied boldly to be clearly second best, paying $8.60 and $5.20 while finishing 1 3/ 4-lengths in front of Elizabeth Tobin and Joe Vaudo’s Musical Prodigy, who returned $3.80.
