First Look: See likely turf fields at Churchill Downs, Aqueduct

It's hard to follow the Breeders' Cup, but graded stakes are on tap this weekend at three tracks.

Here are the likely fields for stakes at Churchill Downs and Aqueduct. Woodbine also hosts three graded stakes, but probables were not available.

Friday

Pebbles (G3), Aqueduct, 1 mile (turf), 3-year-old fillies

Jody’s Pride makes her first start since finishing seventh in the Ashland (G1) in April. Second in last year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies, she won her only other start this year, the Busher Stakes, and will try turf for the first time. Oversubscribed had two wins and two seconds before finishing sixth last out in the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1). No Mo Candy was second in her debut and has won two straight since.

Saturday

River City (G3), Churchill Downs, 1 1/8 miles (turf), 3-year-olds and up

Emmanuel will make his third start for Mike Maker after being moved from Todd Pletcher’s barn. He opened the year with a win in the Canadian Turf (G3) but has been out of the money in five starts since. Gigante took a break after finishing second in the Muniz Memorial (G2) and returned Oct. 10 with an off-the-board finish in a Keeneland allowance. Hades is 0-for-6 since winning the Holy Bull (G3), but has two seconds and two thirds in his last two starts.

Red Smith (G2), Aqueduct, 1 3/8 miles (turf), 3-year-olds and up

Integration is 0-for-5 in graded stakes this year, though he won the black-type Million Preview at Colonial Downs and was second two starts ago in the Arlington Million (G1). Master Piece won this race last year but is 1-for-6 since, with the win coming in the Fort March (G2) at this track. City Man, 0-for-6 this year, makes his first graded start of the year.

Hill Prince (G3), Aqueduct, 1 1/8 miles (turf), 3-year-olds

Deterministic has finished in the money since returning to turf for his last four starts, winning the Virginia Derby (G3) and finishing second last out in the Jockey Club Derby Invitational (G3). Desvio finished behind him in both races, finishing third in the Virginia Derby and fifth last out.

Sunday

Long Island (G3), Aqueduct, 1 3/8 miles (turf), fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

La Mehana beat Immensitude by a neck last out in the Waya (G3), and both are expected back for this one along with Avenue Niel, who finished fourth. Forever After All is winless in her last seven starts after losing by a nose last out in the Dowager (G3). No Show Sammy Jo steps up to graded company after building a four-race win streak.

Probables were not available for weekend graded stakes at Woodbine, the Autumn (G2), Maple Leaf (G3) and Bessarabian (G3)
