The first reported foal for RisenStorm Thoroughbreds stallion Swagger Jack, a Grade I winning son of Smart Strike, is a colt born January 24 in Folsom, Louisiana at Summer Hill Farm.  Bred by Keith Hernandez, the Dark Bay Colt is out of the stakes place Southern Halo mare Southern Banner.
Swagger Jack compiled 5 wins and 3 seconds in 18 starts.   Raced by Silverton Hill LLC, Swagger Jack broke his maiden in a 1 mile Maiden Special Weight on the turf at Gulfstream Park.  After switching surfaces to the dirt, Swagger Jack won the Grade I Carter Handicap completing 7 furlongs in 1:21.44 defeating Eclipse Finalist Sahara Sky.  Swagger Jack also finished second in the Grade II Gulfstream Park Handicap and the Grade III Gulfstream Park Sprint Championship Stakes.
Bred in Virginia by acclaimed breeder Ned Evans, Swagger Jack is by Smart Strike, out of the The Minstrel mare Lyrical Prayer.  Swagger Jack’s half-sister Grand Prayer is the dam of GI winner Malibu Prayer, who sold for $2,000,000 in the Evans Dispersal Sale.  Another half-sister is the dam of European Champion Miler Silverside, and yet another produced Rockin Rockstar a stakes winner of over $350,000.  Swagger Jack descends from a female family that contains no fewer than 38 stakes performers in his first two dams.  Swagger jack is a classic example of breeding the best to the best.
Swagger Jack is set to stand his second season for a fee of $2,500, this year at Nicks Farms in Sellersburg, Indiana.  Swagger Jack is currently offered in RisenStorm’s Breed for Life program on a limited basis.
