Firenze Fire First Winner for Poseidon's Warrior
Joe and Helen Barbazon are pleased to announce Freshman Sire Poseidon’s Warrior’s first winner at Monmouth Park. Firenze Fire (Poseidon’s Warrior/My Every Wish, by Langfuhr) won the five-furlong Maiden Special Weight by an outstanding 3½ lengths with a final time of :58.37.
The colt is owned and bred by Mr. Amore Stable, LLC and trained by Jason Servis and is out of My Every Wish, by Langfuhr.
Poseidon’s Warrior is a Grade 1 SW sprinter and was the first son of champion sprinter and prominent sire-of-sires, Speightstown, to stand in Florida. Poseidon’s Warrior was a runaway SW at 2, a three-time SW at 3, and a Grade 1 SW at 4. Throughout his career, he won seven races by a combined total of 31 lengths, posted six triple-digit Beyer Speed Figures, and posted fractions of :21.1, :43.36, :55.51, 1:08.18. He ran sub-22-second first quarter six times! With a record of 7-2-4 from 21 starts, Poseidon’s Warrior earned $701,147.
