Finding More took the lead from pacesetter and 3-5 favorite Tread near the top of the stretch and then kicked away from the field of six 3-year-old fillies to
win the $57,069 Thursday afternoon feature at Churchill Downs by a widening 4 ¼ lengths.
Trained by Kellyn Gorder and ridden by Corey Lanerie, Finding More completed the seven furlongs on the fast main track in 1:22.52.
Finding More rated behind
Tread through opening fractions of :23.15 and :46.09 and then moved for
the lead on the far turn. She drew even with Tread approaching the
quarter-pole and then drew off, proving much the
best.
Finding More returned $10.20, $6.20 and $3.80. Magic Union,
under Joe Rocco Jr.,
rallied for the place and returned $10.20 and $4.80 with Tread another
three-quarters of a length back in third and returning $2.10 to show.
