Final odds set for 2020 Kentucky Derby Future Wager Pool 1

Pool 1 of the 2020 Kentucky Derby Future Wager closed Sunday evening and, as one should come to expect with this early round of betting, the interest for "All Other Three-Year-Old Colts and Geldings" ended the weekend as the favorite.

More than $284,000 was funneled into the win pool from Friday though Sunday evening, with bettors hammering sophomore horses not among the 23 interests offered in advance of the May 2 race at Churchill Downs down to even money.
Somewhat surprisingly, however, all of the individual choices closed at odds greater than 10-1. Leading the way was Champagne Stakes (G1) winner Tiz the Law, who closed at 11-1 after being defeated in Saturday's Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (G2) at Churchill Downs. Iroquois Stakes (G3) winner Dennis' Moment was next at 12-1.

Maxfield, winner of the Breeders' Futurity (G1) at Keeneland, and Nashua Stakes (G3) hero Independence Hall were both at 13-1. The American Pharoah (G1) winner Eight Rings and Structor, winner of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (G1), were next at 24-1.

Here's a full look at the tote board with dates for remaining pari-mutuel Future Wager opportunities from Feb. 7-9 (Pool 2), March 6-8 (Pool 3) and April 3-5 (Pool 4).
