Final Firecracker blog: The morning after

Strike Impact came out of his third-place finishing in Monday’s Firecracker in great order (certainly better than his humans).

He ran so hard in losing by three lengths to a very nice horse in Wise Dan and finishing a neck behind runner-up Baryshnikov, who not only is a force in stakes but is eligible for starter-allowances and the Claiming Crown. (What a race that would be in the Claiming Crown Emerald on turf in December at the Fair Grounds if Baryshnikov and Dark Cove both ran.)
