Fed Biz and Guilt Trip, the one-three finishers in a three-horse photo in the San Fernando Stakes on Jan. 12, worked six furlongs in company on Santa Anita’s wet/fast main track Sunday morning for next Saturday’s Grade II Strub Stakes for 4-year-olds at 1 1/8 miles.

Fed Biz was clocked in 1:12.40 under jockey Martin Garcia, while Guilt Trip went in 1:12 flat with jockey Erick Lopez aboard.

“They went nice,” trainer Bob Baffert said as a light drizzle fell yet again, limiting the official work tab to 29 horses, including four on the training track. “The track was floated, and I like it when it’s floated, because it’s even.”

Baffert added that Game On Dude, pointing to next Sunday’s San Antonio Stakes, and Flashback, whose lone race was a seven furlong maiden win at even-money last Dec. 8 at Betfair Hollywood Park, are scheduled to work Monday.

Flashback, a highly regarded Triple Crown hopeful by Tapit owned by Gary and Mary West, makes his 3-year-old debut in Saturday’s Grade II Robert B. Lewis Stakes at 1 1/16 miles.

“Guilt Trip was on the rail and might have stolen the show,” said private clocker Toby Turrell of Winners Card, “but they both went really strong.”

Probable for the Strub: Fed Biz, Guilt Trip, Handsome Mike, Stephanoatsee and Tritap.
