Fair odds: Ky. Oaks prospect offers clear value in Untapable
The first of four stops on the Kentucky Oaks 2026 trail through Fair Grounds is Saturday with the Untapable Stakes, and there is a clear-value choice based on the morning line.
Pashmina debuted in a two-turn mile on turf at Keeneland and was hopelessly marooned in post 12 with 12 starters. She ran evenly throughout while wide on both turns. Six weeks later she surfaced on dirt at Fair Grounds and won a 1 1/16-mile race by 10 lengths with Ben Curtis aboard.

Rob Atras goes to Curtis again here, and the trainer has good numbers out of maiden races. A $350,000 purchase at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October yearling sale, Pashmina already has aced the distance test, making the filly by Constitution out of a Super Saver mare an intriguing Oaks prospect if she can move forward again here.
Gary and Mary West's Hit Parade is fair value at her 5-2 morning line price, but I'm concerned we'll actually see that price, given it's trainer Brad Cox and jockey Luis Saez on the filly with the best last-out numbers. Granted, that came in a starter allowance after breaking her maiden for a $50,000 tag, but that was a breakthrough performance pressing a fast pace and holding sway late.
Luv Your Neighbor and Miss Call are tossups for me. The former is interesting stretching out and drawing the rail to track the speed. The former is a total toss at her 3-1 morning line, but I think she might drift from that. She was uncharacteristically farther back last out and can be closer against these with the right start.
