Home Run Stable and Vickie Foley’s Ghostwalking broke in stride to make the pace and drew off late for a five-length victory in Friday’s Fair Grounds feature – an allowance $40,000 optional claiming affair contested at a mile and 70 yards for a purse of $51,000.

Ridden by James Graham and trained by Vickie Foley, the 4-year-old Ghostzapper gelding toured the distance in 1:43.71 following early fractions of 23.61 and 47.16 and increased his career earnings to $122,682 with his fourth lifetime win in 14 starts. Ghostwalking returned mutuels of $21, $7.20 and $3.60.

Pin Oak Stud’s Don Dulce got up to be clearly second best, paying $6.20 and $3.40 while finishing 1 3/4-lengths in front of Wind River Stables’ Adulare, who returned $3.60.

Racing resumes Saturday at Fair Grounds for the 20th renewal of its gala Louisiana Champions Day program featuring 13 races and a special early post time of 12:10 p.m.
