Trainer Jonathan Sheppard said Saturday morning that Augustin Stable’s Kentucky Jockey Club (G2) runner-up Ever So Lucky would be scratched from today’s $150,000 Hutcheson Stakes (G2).
“He needed to have some good strong gallops during the week because we gave him a little bit of a conservative work (Monday),” Sheppard said. “The track wasn’t that great that day, and it’s been (sloppy) since. I discussed it at some length with (Augustin Stable’s George) Strawbridge Friday.”
Sheppard said he would look at several options for Ever So Lucky, including March 10 Swale Stakes (G2).
