Rescue Plan and hot-riding apprentice jockey Pedro Terrero dominated the $15,100 Sound Transit Purse for 3-year-olds Friday evening at Emerald Downs.
With Terrero calling the shots, the son of Smarty Jones rocketed to the early lead and was never headed en route to a seven-length victory over runner-up Ricky Ricky. Rescue Plan ran six furlongs in 1:09 1/5 on a wet-fast track and paid $4.20, $2.80 and $2.60. Roy Lumm is the trainer and the co-owner with Janet Johnson.
Ricky Ricky, ridden by Robert Burney, touched out Swiss Exploit for second place and paid $5.40 and $3.40. Swiss Exploit, Troy Stilwell riding, finished third and paid $4.
