Embur's Song Wires Doubledogdare

Considering that Fares Farms' EMBUR'S SONG (Unbridled's Song) brought a 4-2-1-1 record on Polytrack into Friday's $125,000 Doubledogdare S. (G3) at Keeneland, the Todd Pletcher filly shaped up as an overlay at odds of 9-1. The betting public was likely put off by her disappointing efforts on dirt and turf this year at Gulfstream Park, but back on her preferred surface, Embur's Song promptly rebounded with a wire-to-wire victory. Under John Velazquez, the four-year-old just held on by a neck from a fast-finishing Check the Label (Stormin Fever), and in the process, completed 1 1/16 miles in a track-record 1:41.62, just eclipsing the 1:41.70 mark set by Sadler's Trick in 2006.
