The turf was tough for Einstein, but the 9-5 favorite became the first two-time winner of the $557,600 Grade I Woodford Reserve Turf Classic yesterday at Churchill Downs.
Stuck deep in the pack down the backstretch, the 7-year-old found some running room, charged down the middle of the turf, then held off Cowboy Cal by a head to win the Woodford for the second straight year.
Court Vision finished third, another 23/4 lengths back in the field of nine.
