Eaton's Gift Retired to Swifty Farms

Multiple grade II winner Eaton's Gift has been retired from racing and will stand for $3,000 at Swifty Farms in Indiana it was announced Dec. 17.

he 5-year-old son of Johannesburg—Kit’s Girl, by Carson City won the Swale (gr. II) as a 3-year-old. At 4 he won the Smile Sprint Handicap (gr. II) at Calder where he defeated two-time champion Benny the Bull. He was campaigned by Zayat Stables.
“Eaton's Gift was one of the most athletic and fastest horses I ever trained,” said Dale Romans. “His race at Calder where he beat the freak Benny the Bull was one of my most exciting days as a trainer. It's always sad when a good horse goes to stud, but I am excited to hear Mr. Zayat will support the horse at stud, and I look forward to training his babies.”
“I was very proud to race and own Eaton's Gift, who has been nothing but a gift for Zayat Stables,” Ahmed Zayat said. “He was always very competitive, gutsy, and a beautiful and athletic animal. I am looking forward for his progeny to make him proud. We will support him in every way, shape, and form, and we are big believer of the Indiana program. It has recently become one of the most lucrative breeding and racing programs.”
