Early Look: Probables for Louisiana Derby, undercard

Fair Grounds racing officials will draw the fields Saturday for the Grade 2 Louisiana Derby and other stakes on the March 23 undercard. The track provided the probable and possible runners for the races. 

The Louisiana Derby offers 100-50-25-15-10 qualifying points for Kentucky Derby 2024 to the top five finishers. Several runners from the Risen Star (G2) are expected here, though winner Sierra Leone is headed for the Blue Grass (G1).

The Fair Grounds Oaks (G2), also on the March 23 card, offers 100-50-25-15-10 qualifying points for the Kentucky Oaks (G1) to the top five finishers. Tarifa and Intricate are expected to square off again after finishing 1-2 in the Rachel Alexandra (G2).

Money Supply would try to make it six wins in a row in the New Orleans Classic (G2), most recently scoring in the Mineshaft (G3) over Best Actor and others possible here.

The Muniz Memorial Classic presented by Horse Racing Nation (G2) is shaping up as a rematch of the Fair Grounds Stakes (G3), where Beat Box broke through with a win after three straight second-place efforts.
