Dubai Gold Cup To Be Re-Run

THE Dubai Gold Cup at Meydan on Saturday, which was stopped after Fox Hunt suffered a fatal injury, will be re-run at the end of the card.

All the runners are expected to take part in the second running of the race which is due off a 7.25pm British time, 45 minutes after the Dubai World Cup.

Meydan officials consulted with connections about the possibility of running the Gold Cup again after they decided to stop the field with Fox Hunt down with a broken leg in the centre.

Barbican's trainer Alan Bailey had wanted a re-run and said: "They weren't going any pace whatsoever."
