Victory Moon, a 2003 Dubai champion who won that year's U.A.E. Derby (UAE-II), was euthanized July 26 after fracturing a hind leg in his stall, according to racingweb.co.za. The son of Al Mufti stood at Dr. W. Andreas Jacobs’ Maine Chance Farms in South Africa.
“We found him at 4:00 p.m.,” said stud manager John Slade. “We’re not sure exactly what happened, but the injury to his leg was a long fracture consistent with horses getting up from the floor of their barns. They get up in an awkward way, which can lead to a leg snapping.”
