Drill pre-entered for Delta Jackpot

Drill and Jake Mo, who ran in separate Breeders’ Cup races last weekend, were among 17 horses pre-entered Tuesday for the Grade 3, $1 million Delta Downs Jackpot. The 1 1/16-mile race for 2-year-olds will be run in Vinton, La., on Nov. 19. Final entries will be taken Nov. 16.

Delta also took pre-entries Tuesday for the Grade 3, $500,000 Delta Downs Princess, a one-mile race for 2-year-old fillies on the Jackpot card. There were 16 pre-entered, including Candrea, a Breeders’ Cup alum and the runner-up in the Grade 1 Oak Leaf; Citizen Advocate, a multiple stakes winner who took the local prep; Now I Know, an undefeated stakes winner; and Culotte, who was a supplemental nominee at a cost of $5,500.

Drill, winner of the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity, was 10th in the $2 million BC Juvenile on Saturday. Jake Mo ran in the BC Juvenile Sprint last Friday and was fifth. Allen Milligan, who trains Jake Mo, said the horse emerged from the race full of himself and the decision to pre-enter the horse in the Jackpot keeps the race options open. The pre-entry fee was $1,000.
