The 2014-2015 Championship Meet at Gulfstream Park is set to swing into high gear Saturday with the renewals of three Grade 3 stakes, including the 48th running of the $100,000 W. L. McKnight Handicap, the 46th edition of the $100,000 La Prevoyante Handicap and the 62nd running of the $100,000 Mr. Prospector.

Todd Pletcher-trained Divine Oath, a close-up third in the Twilight Derby (G2) at Santa Anita on Oct. 31, was among a field of 14 (plus two also-eligibles) entered Sunday for the McKnight, a 1 ½-mile turf event for 3-year-olds and up; Irish Mission, unraced since a troubled off-the-board finish in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1) at Santa Anita on Nov. 1, is set for a return in the La Prevoyante, a 1 ½-mile turf race for fillies and mares that attracted a field of  14; and Singanothersong was entered among a field of eight in search of a repeat victory in the Mr. Prospector, a six-furlong dash over the main track for 3-year-olds and up.

Kiaran McLaughlin-trained North Slope, who captured the $100,000 Bowl Game Stakes at Belmont Park in his last start, has been assigned starting highweight of 118 pounds in the McKnight, one more than Slumber, Unitarian and Margano and two more than 3-year-old Divine Oath. The Chad Brown-trained Slumber finished a neck behind North Slope in the Bowl Game. Unitarian, a Grade 2 stakes winner who finished fourth in the Red Smith Handicap (G3) last time out, is also trained by Pletcher, the defending 11-time training champ at Gulfstream. Arnaud Delacour-trained Margano finished third in the Red Smith.
Nick Gonzalez-trained Midnight Aria, who was claimed at Gulfstream for $35,000 before going on to win the 2013 Queen’s Plate, is assigned to carry 116 pounds.

Royal Blessing, St. Albans Boy, Manchurian High, Fixador, Calvados, Rapscallion, Avie’s Quality and Greengrassofyoming were also entered in the McKnight, along with also-eligibles Developer and Dashing David.

In the La Prevoyante, the Christophe Clement-trained Irish Mission, who finished third in the Rodeo Drive (G1) two starts back, has been assigned highweight of 120 pounds, three more than Always Kitten and Julie’s Love and four more than Angegreen and Maximova. Michael Maker-trained Always Kitten finished fourth in the Kentucky Downs Ladies Marathon last time out, while Graham Motion-trained Julie’s Love finished third in the Maple Leaf (G3) at Woodbine on Nov. 1. Wayne Catalano-trained Angegreen, finished third in the Kentucky Downs Ladies Marathon two starts back, while Clement-trained Maximova checked in third in last month’s Long Island Handicap (G3).

Tabreed, Clearbrook, Photo Call, Honey Lake, Bohemian Dance, Premium, Cay Dancer, Modernstone and Auld Alliance round out the La Prevoyante field.

In the Mr. Prospector, Singanothersong will seek a return to the form that powered him to 1 ¾-length victory last year. The Ron Pellegrini-trained 4-year-old will seek to rebound from an eighth-place finish in the Kenny Noe Jr. Stakes at Gulfstream Park West on Nov. 16.

Speechify, who posted a 3 ¾-length victory in the Noe last time out, is scheduled to run back in the Mr. Prospector. The Ralph Nicks-trained 4-year-old has won four of five races at distances of six furlongs and shorter, finishing second in the other.

Master Blender, a late-developing 4-year-old trained by Kirk Ziadie, is slated to seek his fourth straight victory while making his stakes debut in the Mr. Prospector.

Simmstown, Risk Factor, Calamondin, Mongolian Saturday and Little Daddy were also entered for the Mr. Prospector.
