Lawrence DeOrio of Holbrook, NY is the winner of the $5,000 Sunday HIGH STAKES game for April 27!
DeOrio, known as "eldeewins" on the leaderboard, bested 11 other players to take home the $4,000 in prizes, including a spot in the $25,000 Derby Day Game. His final score after 12 races was $99.70.

Great job DerbyWars to make it  possible to play at home in classy way!
"My key...was the 4th race at Santa Anita," said DeOrio. "I quickly zeroed in on the 8 horse - he had 1 of the best figures 3 races back. I knew he would get a clean trip on the outside. The price was nice, because of the jockey.  He won and paid $27. I had a couple wins and places after that, and was able to maintain my lead."
$5,000 Sunday HIGH STAKES gameDeOrio attributed his success to using "an underrated information source." He says, "There are the form, sheet, software and pace players. A lot a people are paying a lot for info.  What I use has all those things at very low cost. I can zero in on contenders and races in minutes."
A longtime fan and player, "Larry" began playing at a young age at his father's instruction. "I bet my first horse with my dad back in  1974. It was in the Kentucky Derby on a horse named Destroyer. Well, he didn't win. That's where it started. My mom, not a horseplayer, was against it then and now! I've  read and learned a lot since then. For me me the more you learn, the less likely you lose."
Just behind Larry in second was Travis Reese "tsreese" with $70.60, and Samantha Cipriano "cippinwinners" came in third with $61.90.
