Delta Downs' racing office received 19 pre-entries on Friday for this year's $1 million Delta Downs Jackpot (G3), the country's second richest race for two-year-olds. Now in its eighth running, the Delta Jackpot is scheduled for November 20. There will be a special first post time of 1 p.m. (CST) that day.
Heading the list of possible starters are BLUE LASER (Bluegrass Cat) and BUG JUICE (Mingun). Blue Laser is a Canadian Grade 3 winner, and Bug Juice is the top earner in the group with a bankroll of $280,740.
Blue Laser scored a gutsy win in the $226,250 Grey S. (Can-G3) at Woodbine in his last start on October 10. The victory came just 13 days after his maiden-breaking performance at the same racetrack in Toronto, Canada.
