Delaware Park will not race Wednesday due to heat

Due to the extreme heat index forecast next week, live racing has been rescheduled for Thursday, next Friday and next Saturday at Delaware Park. There will be no racing Wednesday.

Entries taken Friday will be for the live racing card rescheduled to next Friday.

According to National Weather Service forecasters, Wednesday's air temperature is supposed to reach 96, under mostly sunny skies.

There is a 30% chance of showers Wednesday night and a low predicted to be around 72, with a high of 90 and a 30% chance of rain Thursday. Forecasters have issued an extreme heat warning, for heat indices up to 106, effectove from Monday morning through Wednesday evening.

Live racing is scheduled for Saturday, two days before the heat warning takes effect. First race post time is 12:35 p.m EDT.
