Del Mar cancels Friday, adds Monday card because of rain

Because of unseasonably wet weather in San Diego, and in the interest of safety and maintaining optimal track surface conditions, Del Mar is adjusting its racing schedule. Live racing originally planned on Friday is cancelled and a Monday card has been added.

The shift will allow the main track additional time to dry while also enabling use of the turf course on Sunday and Monday.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for rain in the San Diego area tomorrow through Friday night and ending Saturday morning. Sunday and Monday both are expected to be sunny with a high near 68 degrees.

Racing will resume Saturday with a post time of 3:30 EST. Del Mar's fall current meet concludes Nov. 30.
