Thought Process, trained by Philip D'Amato, is the 8-5 morning-line favorite Saturday for the Grade 1 Del Mar Oaks at Del Mar.

Eleven 3-year-old fillies are set to contest the $300,000 race at 1 1/8 miles on the turf course. The Del Mar Oaks (G1) serves as one of the premier tests for 3-year-old fillies on the West Coast.

Daughter of Collected, Thought Process enters off a victory in the San Clemente Handicap (G2) at Del Mar on July 19. The filly has won five of seven career starts, with all five victories coming on turf. D'Amato has enlisted Umberto Rispoli to ride.

Lush Lips represents another serious contender. The Britian-bred began her career in Ireland before moving to the United States for trainer Brendan Walsh. The daughter of Ten Sovereigns won two of four starts in 2025, including a victory in the Tepin at Churchill Downs on June 28. Tyler Gaffalione takes the mount.

Will Then for trainer Jonathan Thomas came home third in the San Clemente Handicap (G2) behind Thought Process. The War of Will filly captured the Jimmy Durante Stakes (G3) at Del Mar in November 2024. Juan Hernandez picks up the assignment.

Casalu adds another dimension for trainer Bob Baffert. The Caracaro filly finished second to Thought Process in the San Clemente and owns three wins from nine career starts. Kazushi Kimura retains the mount.

The Del Mar Oaks goes as race 8 Saturday with a scheduled post time of 8:33 p.m. EDT.
