Del Mar: Full Field for Osunitas

A pair of runners from trainer Jerry Hollendorfer's barn leads a full field of 10 into the $75,000 Osunitas Stakes Saturday for fillies and mares 3 years old and older at 1 1/16 miles on the Jimmy Durante Turf Course.

U R All That I Am, who's been off the board only twice in her past 12 starts while piling up six victories, and Lilly Fa Pootz, who has been in the money in her past eight starts, figure to gain a lot of attention from bettors as the field goes to the post.

Offering plenty of competition, no doubt, will be Princess Haya, trained by Carl O'Callaghan and coming into the race from five straight graded stakes, though a non-winner during that stretch. Overall, her record shows four wins, four seconds and three thirds in 17 lifetime starts, the last three with O'Callaghan after taking over as trainer from Michael Matz.  The 5-year-old mare is the leading money winner in the field with $420,901.

Adding a bit of mystery to the field is the Cash Asmussen-trained Fortunia, who comes to California from Lone Star Park in Arlington, Texas. In her most recent outing, the 3-year-old daughter of Leroidesanimeaux, who will carry 114 pounds in the Osunitas, was a flying second in Lone Star’s Grade III Ouija Board Handicap.

Here's the lineup from the rail, with weights and riders: Value Stream, 119, Tyler Baze; Princess Haya, 121, Christian Santiago Reyes; Ruination, 119, Mike Smith; Burg Berg, 119, Joel Rosario; Spring Style, 119, Alonso Quinonez; Fortunia, 114, Tony McNeil; Rosey de Megeve, 119, Martin Garcia; Conniption, 114, Brice Blanc; U R All That I Am, 121, Rafael Bejarano, and Lilly Fa Pootz, 119, Joseph Talamo.

The Osunitas is the sixth race on the 10-race card.
