Sam-Son Farm's homebred Deceptive Vision earned her first graded stakes win - as well as a berth into the Breeders' Cup - with a decisive victory in the Grade 2, $300,000 Canadian at Woodbine on Sunday.

Grade 3 winner La Tia took the early lead, posting fractions of :23 1/5, :47 1/5 for the opening quarter- and half-mile. Skylander Girl, Lexie Lou and Savvy Hester held close to the pace. Deceptive Vision settled mid-pack under jockey Eurico Rosa da Silva, improving her position throughout the turn.

The 4-year-old daughter of A. P. Indy chased La Tia down the stretch and kicked clear for the win.

Royal Fury rallied late to get up for second, while Meri Shika finished fourth behind La Tia. Dance Again, Industrial Policy, Savvy Hester, Skylander Girl, Solid Appeal and Lexie Lou completed the order of finish.

Woodbine Oaks and Queens Plate winner Lexie Lou, favored at 3-2, was slightly eased before the wire.

Deceptive Vision, who paid $11.30, $6.90 and $4.50 across the board, stopped the clock for the 1 1/8 mile contest on good turf in 1:47.80.

Out of the Smart Strike dam Eye of the Sphynx, Deceptive Vision was bred in Ontario by her owners. Her win today improves her career record to four wins, two seconds and a third from seven starts for trainer Malcolm Pierce, including respective second- and third-place efforts in the Grade 2 Dance Smart in July and the Grade 2 Nassau last May.

The Grade 2 Canadian is part of the Breeders' Cup "Win and You're In" Challenge, earning Deceptive Vision an automatic entry into the World Championships on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 at Santa Anita.
