Track officials have extended the deadline for purchasing a membership in the Remington Park Racing Club. Those interested in experiencing the thrill of horse ownership firsthand have until Sept. 18 to sign up.

Members of the Racing Club will receive an owners’ access to Remington Park, including visiting the track in the mornings to watch the club horse during training hours. Members can also experience pre-race moments in the saddling paddock and visit with the trainer and jockey as they discuss strategy for the race.

Membership could also include the thrill of victory and a photograph in the winner’s circle with the triumphant horse.

“The Remington Park Racing Club is an incredible opportunity for anyone who’s wondered what it’s like to own a racehorse but may not be ready with the full financial commitment required to make it happen,” Racing Club manager Kelly O’Hara said. “Membership in the club gets you the thrill and access of ownership, but at a much more affordable cost.”

Racing Club members will also be invited to special events, including a reception on days when the club horse competes.

Membership in the Remington Park Racing Club costs a one-time fee of $250 and there are no hidden expenses. All Racing Club members will receive detailed monthly statements regarding costs for the horse, and depicting money earned from racing. Club Members will receive regular updates about their horse and the Racing Club through email and social media platforms.
The 2017 club horse will be purchased and managed by eight-time Remington Park leading owner Danny Caldwell. The horse will be conditioned by Federico Villafranco, who trains Caldwell’s horses.

The Racing Club is organized as a 501(c)-7 not-for-profit social club. Members should not join the Club with any profit motive or expectation of profit. Club members may not receive back any of their $250 membership fee. Should a profit be made, the funds will go to Remington Park charities.
