Darby Dan Farm has hired Hunter Houlihan as its new Director of Client Development to work in all aspects of the farm’s client services and relations.

“Hunter has been able to learn many different aspects of the horse business prior to joining us here at Darby Dan,” said John Phillips, owner of Darby Dan. “We feel he will be an extremely valuable asset to us. His experience, knowledge, and dedication to the customer are paramount, and we look forward to doing great things with Hunter moving forward.”

A Winchester native, Houlihan got his start in the industry during his college years while attending the University of Kentucky. He earned valuable experience in various facets of the Thoroughbred business, including working for trainer D. Wayne Lukas, writing for the Bloodstock Journal and working at BRIS, among others.

In 2006, Houlihan went to work for Taylor Made Farm where he was promoted to various positions during his 10 ½-year stint. Since 2011, he’s served as Account Manager handling client bloodstock.

“I am truly honored to join the team here at Darby Dan,” said Houlihan. “I feel this is an operation that is very much on the rise, and I am anxious to help build upon that. There is no questioning this farm’s storied past, and I am delighted to be a part of its bright future.”
