Dancin Perfect Wins Monday Feature

Good Tyme Racing’s Dancin Perfect, allowed to settle behind the early leaders, split those rivals when set down for the drive and withstood a late bid by Pin Oak Stable’s Elision to win Monday’s $44,500 allowance optional claiming feature for fillies and mares at Fair Grounds by a nose.

The winner, a 4-year-old daughter of Pleasantly Perfect trained by Mike Burgess and ridden by Shane Sellers, paid $7.60, $3.20 and $2.60, toured the about 1 1/16 distance over a Stall-Wilson turf course listed as “good” in 1:47.83 and increased her career earnings to $124,910 with her fourth win in 13 lifetime starts.

Elision, void of early foot, rallied late to gain the place and returned mutuels of $4.60 and $3.40 while 5 3/4 lengths in front of More of the Best, who paid $6.40 to show. More of the Best set the pace with splits of 24.45 and 50.51 before weakening.

Racing resumes Friday at Fair Grounds with a nine-race program beginning at 1:10 p.m.
